Mannequin’s Daughter

Synopsis

Mannequin’s Daughter is the tale of a disturbed and possibly delusional young woman named Iris, whose peculiar eating disorder has led to a disconcerting change in her body.

The alchemical god Hermes leads her on a quest in which she comically spirals into the depths of her own mind, meeting tantalizingly familiar characters along the way. But what is she looking for? And whose version of events is real- hers, her Psychiatrist’s, Hermes’, or her supposedly dead husband’s?

Very loosely based on the Egyptian myth of Isis and Osiris, the play trades on surreal imagery, absurdist wit, and the rituals of theatre and anorexia nervosa.
